Every custom-completed model, kit, and restoration is built by our expert "Yankee craftsmen" in Searsport, Maine, not overseas. Over 95% of each model, and its component parts, is manufactured by BlueJacket.

BlueJacket's kits are designed to enable a modeler to have fun, create a historically accurate model, and have an enjoyable learning experience.

For people who do not have the time or inclination to build a model, we have been building custom models for more than 100 years. In fact, we started as the official model maker for the U.S. Navy. Our talented shipcrafters will build a scale replica of any vessel--sail, power, ancient, traditional, contemporary, naval, commercial, or pleasure--as long as credible information is available/obtainable. We also build half-hull models in the traditional manner of hand carving laminated wood lifts.

We clean, repair, and restore distressed models. When undertaking a restoration, we do so with the intent of preserving the integrity of the model, retaining as much of the original builder's work and technique as possible.
