O’Donovan and Dole Boatworks

John O'Donovan and Patrick Dole founded O'Donovan & Dole Traditional Wooden Boatworks, LLC in 2008. They met while working on the restoration of three Buzzards Bay 30s at French & Webb in Belfast, Maine. Patrick and John bring a combined boatbuilding experience of more than 15 years to the shop. Both gentlemen have contributed to notable projects at some of the most respected yards in New England.

The partnership began based upon the ambition to build boats simply, reflecting the way they have been built for generations. Simple, Functional, Elegance. We believe when building or repairing a boat that keeping simplicity and function in mind, results in elegance. Our desire is to not only build new boats that will last for generations, but also to help people who own wooden boats to keep them sailing for years to come.
